Starlight Gems Aries – NS Novelties
Seven weeks ago, I posted this photo on Instagram:
You heard correctly. That was SEVEN WEEKS ago. Despite how excited I was to receive a sparkly, purple vibrator that matched Taboo’s building, it took me seven weeks to actually use the thing.
These are the reasons for the wait:
- I don’t try toys before I’m ready to review them. I like to give my first impressions, and to give them immediately. Occasionally I’ll give a toy a second night before I get to typing, but only when I didn’t bring my A-game. Not to be a braggart, but that’s basically never.
- I’ve had a whole lot of fun toys tossed to me recently. From the uncut to the wired up, to three that even have “WOW” in their names, it’s been a busy couple of months.
- I thought of the Aries as a gay best friend. I figured one night we’d be painting our nails, have one too many vodka cranberries, and one thing would lead to another. It would be fun, even great, but blowing my mind wouldn’t be his priority.
We didn’t paint our nails. Well, HE didn’t.
Instead, we got stoked on a movie marathon! I had just received four new DVDs for review so we piled them up, poured the popcorn and settled in. And then one thing led to another.
The first thing I noticed about my purple, sparkly friend was that he was a bit larger than I remembered. NS Novelties claims he’s 9.15″ x 2.65″ but if you’re not trying to insert the balls (I love you, Aries, but no.) he’s more like 5.75″ insertable and 1.75″ in diameter. Dude’s not huge, but he’s not shrimpy either.
The second thing I noticed was how flexible he is. The vibrator is near the tip and the shaft, while firm, can practically be bent 90 degrees. The third thing was that the dial at the base, which carries the toy from low to high (no waves or patterns on this one and that’s fine with me,) is super shiny.
Once I recovered from that distraction, we got down to business. I invited the Body Wand Aqua Mini to join in and while she was thrilled that Aries is also waterproof, we agreed to keep this encounter on dry land.
Maybe it’s because I’ve been on a sex toy hiatus for what feels like DAYS, or maybe I’m in a romantic mood, but Aires and I started slow and stayed that way. Just like a new partner I’d been craving and unlike a slightly sloppy gay friend, I gasped when we connected. I took my time turning that shiny silver dial higher and higher and was marveling at his strength and just about to finish up when I realized he had more to give.
I was a bit taken aback when I maxed out the dial. For a battery powered, non-pulsating toy, the Starlight Gems Aries packs a punch. Or maybe it’s BECAUSE he’s a battery powered, non-pulsating toy. Either way, Aries’ ability to silently vibrate his sparkly ass off was messing with my slow jam vibe. I considered turning him down, but decided to switch my station to meet him and we wrapped things up a little more J. Cole.
It’s no surprise I’m into Aries. NS Novelties has rocked my world time and again. I’m still a little confused about how a battery powered, TPR toy has me casting giddy sideways glances across our bowl of popcorn, but that’s what second dates are for.
The Starlight Gems line also includes Orion (curved) and Vela and Libra (non-phallic) as well as an array of mini vibes and sparkly Booty Pop butt plugs. Try one because they’re quality. Collect them all because they’re cute.
